This week the children have been wonderful. Mrs Stocks has completed the Phonics Screening tests for those children present and we are very proud of how the children approached the task. A big thank you to all parents for helping the children prepare for the test.
In English, the children have enjoyed listening to the story of ‘Dougal the Deep Sea Diver’. This story has inspired the children to explore features of a diary, explore characters and underwater settings.
In maths, the children have been measuring using language such as heavy, heavier, heaviest, light, lighter and lightest. They have also been estimating how many cubes an object weighs and have been weighing individual objects to put them in order from heaviest to lightest.
In RE we have been listening to the story of Zacchaeus the tax collector. We discussed how Zacchaeus really wanted to see Jesus and how Jesus helped him to change his ways.
In Science, the children have been naming and labelling the parts of the body.
We have also been practising for our sports day on Friday and look forward to seeing you there to cheer the children on.
Please can the children bring in a t-shirt in their house colour to wear on Friday.

Next week we are looking forward to our trip to Whipsnade Zoo. Not quite sure what the weather will be like yet. However, please ensure can all children wear appropriate clothing and bring a small disposable water bottle so it can be filled throughout the day if necessary.
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend and a Happy Father’s Day to all our Dad’s!
