Welcome back!
It was lovely to see all the children return to school on Wednesday feeling refreshed after their Easter holidays. Our new RE topic on Holidays and Holydays enabled the children to share their wonderful holiday experiences with each other.
We also welcome Mrs Serra to Year One and hope that she will have an enjoyable time working at St Dominic’s.
On Friday, the girls really enjoyed their first tennis coaching lesson with Bridie whilst the boys were learning to play hockey with Mr Simmonds. As the weather is getting warmer now it would be great if each child could bring in a water bottle every day.
Next week in English we will be focussing on a Non-Fiction text called All about Elephants. In Maths, we will be using the clocks to focus on telling the time.
We will also begin our new topic on Famous People.

Have a lovely weekend.

WB: 27.3.17.

The children have had a lovely time this week during ‘Be Spirited’ week. They were able to visit a variety of prayer stations in the hall to help them deepen their relationship with God.

In the prayer garden the children used drama to act out the events of Holy Week which helped them to gain an understanding of the Easter story.

On Monday, the children joined the rest of the school to take part in the house cross country.

Also, a big well done to Maria, Robert, Iris and James for representing Year 1 in the Key Stage One ‘Spelling Bee’. We were very proud of them as there were many spellings that were quite tricky.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter
