What a busy and productive half-term we have had.
A big thank you to all our parents who came in on Monday and helped the children sew their hand puppets. They really enjoyed making them and I am sure they will have much fun using them.
In Maths, the children have been solving problems and learning about the properties of 3D shapes.
In English, the children have been ‘word detectives’. They have been learning about using the pre-fix ‘un’ and the suffixes ‘ing’ ‘ed’ ‘er’ and ‘est’. They have also been exploring words that can be joined to create ‘compound’ words.
In Science, the children have been finding out about natural materials and comparing these to materials that have been manufactured.
Next term, our first week back is ‘feeling good’ week. The children will be taking part in an African drumming workshop which sounds amazing.
In English we begin our Poetry unit which I am sure the children will enjoy.
In Maths, the children will be counting in multiples of 5 and 10 and begin finding 5 lots and 10 lots of a given object.
In RE, we will be learning about the Eucharist and how the special meal is prepared within the parish. As we begin our Lenten journey the children will be thinking about how we can prepare ourselves during the season of Lent. They will also be acting out the story of The Last Supper.
Wishing you all a happy half-term holidays!
